We work hard each day to make enough money to provide for ourselves and our families. Year after year, we toil away with the hopes of upgrading our standard of living and being able to enjoy life a little more with our loved ones. There’s also a certain pride that comes from doing a good day’s work, to putting in the effort to get the job done right. We like our work to have meaning in the world, and to know that we have true purpose in the job that we do.
Our work careers often span over forty years. All in all, we don’t ask for much considering we are giving most of our very lives to the job or jobs we do. We ask to be treated fairly, to be honored and respected and to have bosses and company executives acknowledge the hard work we put in. Each day, we want to come into a workplace that makes us feel like human beings whose feelings matter, rather than being throwaway cogs in a constantly grinding machine. Unfortunately, all too often companies and bosses fail to create the environment they should equiim com.
